Mid-Autumn at Gardens by The Bay

On my birthday last week, we visited Gardens by The Bay for a family dinner followed by a lovely stroll to enjoy the lantern installations.  We had our dinner at Bakerzin before finally making our way to the Super Tree Grove to enjoy the sights.

The Super Trees looked amazing as always and the sight never fails to invite an attempt to freeze that moment in time for a precious keepsake.

What's unique about this year, there's a rotating lantern installation which elaborated on the legend of Chang'er and Houyi and how we come to enjoy Moon Cake in mid-autumn.  Turns out mooncake is one of Chang'er's favourite food, though I surmise she would possibly gain a lot of weight considering how much oil and sugar there is in a single mooncake nowadays....    Modern mooncake can easily pack about 400 calories a piece... geez...

From the Super Tree Grove, we walked to the bridge towards Marina Bay Sands by the Dragonfly Island.  We took a small detour to the Chinese Garden before finally going up Dragonfly Bridge.  Once we were on the bridge, I thought the lake looked quite nice from up here.

Once we walked down the bridge, we went to the SG50 Lattice.  The SG50 Lattice were minimally decorated with hanging lanterns, but the lighting was wonderful.

When we were done in SG50 Lattice we continued to the Planet installation.  Along the way, there were sparse lantern installations which were quite interesting.

Along the way out, we just couldn't miss the beautiful dragon dance lantern installation.

We ended at about 9:30 p.m.  Although it was rather hot and humid, it was a very wonderful trip.

And here's a closing shot for this entry:
