Juggling June

June has been a mixed bag of sorts.  On the work front, I somehow got my wish to be transferred out.  I will become a full PO for one of ONE's core business system's module dealing with Demurrage & Detention.  While this is the exit I've been looking for in a long time, I'm quite apprehensive approaching this role.  Because so far I've never taken up full PO responsibilities, so I'm adjusting to a new role that seems to need me to be in the centre stage; something an introvert like me is quite uncomfortable with.  What I really want is actually to be a data analyst or AI engineer.  But by some dumb luck, I'll be reunited with an ex-colleague who's now working with the vendor.  I feel like the heavens designed this encounter in one way or another, but I'm not sure what will come out of it.  I'm a mixed bag of relief, apprehension and hope.

Shackled September

So the friggin' SAP integration project went live this month, I didn't give a 💩 and took a day off during the prep week which was during the kids' term break since I refused to do anything further related to that project, not the hypercare, not the sprint grooming, etc.  My BAU is more than enough to occupy me and the lack of work life balance as well as consideration disgusted me enough to pay no heed to this fu💀ked up project.

Lindsay's 4th Birthday

Just a few weeks back we celebrated Lindsay's 4th birthday.  My wife had arranged for a celebration in her school earlier which I did not attend.  So I only celebrated with her at home in the evening.

It was a small and intimate celebration for Lindsay.  My little girl is a year older now, naughtier for sure....  but lovely as always.

Happy birthday my little lovely angel...

Linc's 6th Birthday 2016

Today is Lincoln's birthday.  I took half day off in the afternoon to pick up his birthday cake and prepare for a celebration at his school with his classmates.  The boy turned 6 today.  It's quite hard to see how he grows up so fast, I feel like I hadn't spent enough time with him.

Anyway.....  My wife ordered a separate cake for his birthday celebration at school.  It's a Doraemon themed cake which looks really cute.

Lindsay's 3rd Birthday

Lindsay turned 3 last month.  It was quite a simple celebration.  My wife had arranged for a small party at her playgroup class and ordered a special Hello Kitty themed cake.

When Lindsay turned one

When Lindsay was about to celebrate her 1st birthday my wife had to urgently leave for Jakarta; her grandfather was hospitalized after a critical fall.  Timing couldn't be worse....  But since it was Lindsay's first birthday, I wanted to make sure that she should have it celebrated, no way she should miss it.

So on the actual day we had a simple celebration for Lindsay.  I got a cake and my mom did the cooking while my sister did the decoration.  My brother... well.... He ate the food and sang with the rest of us...

Lincoln's 5th Birthday

Today is Lincoln's 5th birthday.  We woke him up at 8:30 for his surprise - his birth time happens to be 8:30 too...

My wife arranged for his cakes and party at school, from setting up the theme, doing the goodie bag and souvenirs.  At 8 am we got the delivery from the lovely baker and her husband, and we couldn't be happier with the result.

The Batam Life - Part 3

Another exciting part of moving to Batam was to see Lincoln started going to child care.  He was just 1 1/2 years old then.  We decided to start him on half day so that he can get accustomed to school life later on.
