Bali Holiday 2019 - Day 6

On Day 6, we didn't do anything much.  We just had a whole lot of good time in The Apurva Kempinski.

After breakfast we quickly went back to our room to get changed and headed straight to the pool to just play in the water for the next 4 hours or so.

We certainly had a lot of fun swimming together and just playing in the pool.  Unfortunately for me, I didn't wear any top nor any sun screen so I got "burned" again.....  I got an even tan now by the way.  👤👤👤

After a jolly good time in the water, we bathed and had a quick lunch.  My wife had ordered Pak Dobil's suckling pig rice by Go Food.  It was a very tasty and filling simple lunch.

And after the quick lunch followed by a quick rest, we went around the hotel to take some family photos.  There were so many photogenic spots in the hotel.

What really piqued my interest was these wooden carving pillars in the lobby, there are 4 of them.  According to the staffs, the construction of all wooden carvings in the hotel took 300 craftsmen a period of 6 years to complete (if I remember correctly.... it could also be 600 craftsmen and 4 years...  Geez....  my memory is getting bad!!).

Well...  what I can say for sure is that, the result is nothing short of amazing.  The carving details are symmetrical and well uniformed, the precision is machine-like, but the grace and elegance are intrinsically human.

And finally before we returned to our room in the evening, I had a chance to take another photo of this amazing hotel during the blue hour.
