Well, well.... Look and behold! Dark clouds, grey skies and a pouring rain!! And from our hotel room, we could see some parts of the streets submerged in water. So it could flood after all!

Luckily, PIK has a good flood management system so the water eventually subsided. As it would be extremely time consuming to go out, my parents decided to just have breakfast at Maystar in PIK Avenue. The traffic was so bad, it took my mom more than an hour to return to the hotel from Muara Karang Market, a trip that's supposed to be just under 6 km long.

After breakfast, we went to 婆婆's house and spent the afternoon there. It was already midday when we arrived at 婆婆's house. 婆婆 just remained quiet while we were there and eventually went for her nap. It saddens me to see her in such a state. Ever since 公公 departed, it was as if a part of her had gone too.. she is now very quiet, won't speak and always looks forlorn. I always wonder what goes on in her mind whenever she sees us, although I guess we'll never know.
As soon as 婆婆 fell asleep, we made our way back to the hotel. It was still raining then.

After we settled in the hotel room for a while, we went to Putu Made for tea time. Putu Made is an amazing Balinese restaurant in PIK Avenue. Food is excellent and they serve a nice range of traditional dessert and drinks which is just nice for tea time. I suddenly have a new favourite Indonesian restaurant! 😋

Tea time was short and light, it consisted of a Balinese iced coffee, grilled bananas, Cendol and iced tape ketan. What I really love about Putu Made's food is that, they are not outrageously liberal with the use of salt and sugar. My coffee was lightly sweetened, I could still taste the bitterness and the amazing coffee flavour, while the cendol and the iced tape ketan were also equally reasonably sweetened. I could still taste the natural flavours of the food. After that short tea time, I knew I have to return and try their main course.

It was just a short rest in the room as we had to leave for Chung Hua Restaurant, all the way in Sunter. In order to avoid a possible traffic jam, we left at about 5 pm, and arrived in Chung Hua just before 6. My father's staff were already there. We just went into the dining room and waited for everyone else to arrive.

And shortly, my aunt, my cousins and their families arrived. Dinner commenced and we had a really good time catching up with each other. And of course, a reunion dinner also called for a good family photo.

After dinner, we just made our way back to Mercure and called it a day. The missus had wanted to buy some putu bambu and martabak, but they were all closed. Anyway, we were too full for any snacks so that's just fine.
