On Sunday we visited The Cat Cafe in Bugis. The pricing is $16 for 2 hours with a free soft drink per person. That is quite reasonable actually, when compared to other cat cafes in Singapore. Linc & Lind were excited from the start, the thought of getting up close to furry felines, petting and playing with the furballs got them somewhat impatient throughout the morning. After a quick breakfast in Bugis, we climbed up 3 storeys in an old shophouse outside Bugis Street.

We came after the cats' lunch, so they were sleepy and doozy from food comma. I'm not sure whether that's good or bad.. for us I mean, since we paid to play and interact with the cats instead of watching them sleep... They were basically lying around in their baskets and boxes.

With the cats sleeping, we had an easy time petting them. Although some were somewhat irritated and one grey tabby bit me playfully as if telling me to stop petting it.

What I like about The Cat Cafe is that, they "employ" mostly rescued cats. Out of the 15 cats in that cafe, 12 were former strays. They are all quite old cats too, so they mostly eat, play, sleep, repeat. The Cat Cafe in Bugis also looks more spacious as compared to other cat cafes, namely Meomi and Neko No Niwa.

Needless to say, there are "Cat Rules" to adhere to, in order to ensure a safe feline experience for the visitors.

Some of the cats have an introduction card to warn visitors of their behaviours, especially if they might bite.

Well, there was nothing much to do except to pet them and just watch them sleep. There was minimum interaction.

We will be visiting some other cat cafes in the future since Linc & Lind loved the experience. The only blemish from that fun afternoon was that one of the air conditioner unit broke down, so it was really stuffy inside. I was sweating bullets and had cat fur all over me - well... wet skin + fur... you know it. And we'll pick a better time too for our next visit, so as to have more interaction with the cats.
Anyway, here's a closing shot for this meow meow entry:
