My Very First Scooter - Honda Scoopy

As I mentioned in my earlier post about moving to Batam, there was a time when I had to wait for 4 full months for a car that did not come.  While waiting for the car to come I decided to get a scooter - Honda Scoopy.  It was the first time my wife experienced riding a motorcycle so it was quite exciting.  For myself, the scooter was a joy to ride as it has an automatic transmission, no clutch, no gears just twist and go.  And most importantly the scooter marks the point in time where we finally achieved mobility!

I loved the scooter so much, its always my first choice of commuting mode whenever the weather permits.  Its so much portable compared to our car later.  It's fuel economic, cheap on servicing and parts, easy to zip about in heavy traffic and that feeling of the wind hitting your body is just amazing.

In the evenings when the weather was cooler I would sometimes bring my son for a ride.  He really enjoyed the ride as much as I did.

Sometimes I wish I still had a scooter back here in Singapore, but then again it's just to expensive to keep one here.  The Scoopy and the rides remains one of my fondest memories.
